Go Wichita hires communications manager

WICHITA, Kan., June 7, 2013 - Go Wichita is pleased to announce the hire of James Williams as its communications manager. Williams will develop and implement Go Wichita Convention and Visitors Bureau's communications functions, serve as the primary liaison for media and ensure consistent use of Go Wichita's brand identity and graphics throughout printed and electronic materials.

"James brings an in-depth understanding of media relations and a comprehensive strategy to Go Wichita's communications objectives," said Cynthia Wentworth, Go Wichita vice president for marketing. "Go Wichita is excited to utilize his expertise to promote the city we know and love to locals and visitors alike."

Williams came from the American Red Cross as a local and national spokesperson for the organization where he saw his words published around the world. In 2009, he became the youngest primary spokesperson in Wichita. That same year, he was selected as PRSA Kansas' "Newcomer of the Year." Williams earned a degree from Kansas State University in public relations and is proud to call Wichita home with his wife and two labs.
