"What started out as a trading post along the Chisholm Trail has grown into the 50th largest city in the United States, trading the nickname of “Cowtown” for “The Air Capital of the World,” as many aircraft companies have manufacturing facilities here. This year is the 150th anniversary of the Chisholm Trail, so a trip to the Old Cowtown Museum (oldcowtown.org) is in order. This living history museum gives visitors the chance to experience a taste of what life was like in the 1860s — complete with gunfights on Main Street."
