Visit Wichita’s new Director of Partnership Development is a familiar face to partners, the Wichita community and the travel industry: Susan Cohrs.

Susan has been a Visit Wichita team member for six years and is stepping into the role from which Lynne Smith retired at the end of last month. She will be responsible for enhancing relationships with current Visit Wichita partners and creating new connections to attract new partners to the organization.

Susan has 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry, beginning her career in sales and convention services in South Padre Island and most recently serving as Visit Wichita’s Convention Services Manager.

"I love my hometown and I’ve enjoyed my role of showcasing our partners to both visitors and locals,” said Cohrs. “I’m excited to now use my experience and enthusiasm to assist partners in connecting with visitors. Wichita has such awesome energy going on right now among our long-time partners, and many new partners adding to our innovative, unique city.”

Susan and her husband, David, are the proud parents of four and grandparents to six. These once rural residents are now enjoying their lives as empty nesters in the heart of downtown Wichita. In their spare time, you'll find them walking, biking and making their way to concerts, breweries, art crawls and more.

“I’m thrilled for both Susan and for our partners that Susan is moving into this role,” said Susie Santo, president and CEO of Visit Wichita. “The transition will be seamless with her knowledge of Wichita and our partners.”
