Go Wichita initiates search for new CEO
(Wichita, Kan.) - Go Wichita Convention & Visitors Bureau has established its search for its new president and chief executive officer.
A search firm has been selected of three firms that submitted proposals. Selected search firm representatives will visit Wichita starting the week of March 26 and meet with the community selection committee. Additionally, this firm will interview and meet with a variety of community stakeholders and business leaders throughout their visit. The firm will then identify potential candidates and arrange interviews for the candidates and the community selection committee.
"It is critical that the most qualified and capable candidate be identified for this position for the greater good of Wichita's travel and tourism industry and our community," said Stephen Stewart, Go Wichita board chair. "We want to conduct the search quickly and efficiently with a goal of selecting the right candidate."
The estimated timetable for the search process is 60 to 120 days.
John Rolfe resigned his position as president and CEO of Go Wichita after more than 10 years of loyal service to become the chief operating officer of the Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau.
