Hofrenning elected to TIAK board of directors


(Wichita, Kan.) - Maureen Hofrenning, vice president, Go Wichita Convention & Visitors Bureau, was elected the Travel Industry Association of Kansas (TIAK) board of directors. She has also achieved Kansas Destination Specialist (KDS) certification.

The Travel Industry of Kansas is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and development of travel and tourism in Kansas. Hofrenning's one-year term on the TIAK board of directors begins Jan. 1, 2011.

TIAK established the KDS certification program in 2003. It is designed to familiarize and further one's knowledge of the State of Kansas, tourism marketing and leadership. Since its inception, 20 people from the Kansas hospitality industry have been named a KDS designee.

The mission of the Go Wichita Convention & Visitors Bureau is to market the Greater Wichita area as a major convention and tourism destination, thereby enhancing the economic development of the city, county, region and state.
