Leadership Kansas program visits Wichita
The program's 40 participants will hear presentations on leadership from hotel developer Jack DeBoer, about Koch Industries and about the oil and gas industry. There will also be panel discussions on entrepreneurship and the need for technical training programs.
The tour through south-central Kansas also includes stops in Hutchinson at the Kansas State Fair, Kansas Underground Salt Museum and Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center. After visiting Wichita and Hutchinson, the class goes to El Dorado for a tour of the BG Products facility and the El Dorado Correctional Facility.
As an affiliate of the Kansas Chamber, Leadership Kansas is a statewide program that is designed to enhance and motivate future leaders from various Kansas communities. Each year close to 500 people are nominated for the program. Forty individuals are selected to participate in the class. Leadership Kansas is dedicated to ensuring geographic, racial, occupational and gender diversity so that each class is truly representative of the state.
