A surprising sight towers over the prairie grass and parking lots of suburban Wichita, looming over the characteristically flat Kansas landscape. The long-necked behemoths Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus and Alamosaurus are visible even from afar, and as visitors venture closer, other species come into view: the crocodile-like Deinosuchus and the armor-plated Stegosaurus, the tiny trouble-making Compsognathus (affectionately nicknamed “Compies”) and iconic carnivores like Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptor.
