Power of partnership the theme for National Travel & Tourism Week

(Wichita, Kan.) - Partnerships with travel and tourism-related businesses help companies grow, and they help grow the economy of Wichita, south-central Kansas and the entire state. That's the central theme for the 2012 Go Wichita National Travel & Tourism Week luncheon. The event will be held at Old Cowtown Museum Visitors Center, Thursday, May 10, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Jan Luth, Exploration Place president, is the keynote speaker sharing insights about how Exploration Place created partnerships in preparation for one of the biggest exhibits to come to Wichita - Star Wars:® Where Science Meets Imagination. Luth will describe how the museum's staff is leveraging these partnerships to expand promotional reach, increase funding and create sponsorship opportunities.

Kim Madison, chair of the Wichita Hotel/Lodging Committee, will announce the winners of the Stars of the Industry Awards at the Go Wichita luncheon. This program honors exceptional service in the Wichita hotel industry. The awards are based on nominations from area hotel general managers.
