WICHITA, Kan. – The National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series semifinal games take place tonight, Aug.12, starting at 7 p.m. First up, the Hays Larks will take on the Kansas Stars. At 9:30 p.m., San Diego Force will play five-time champion, Santa Barbara Foresters. The winner of tonight’s semifinal games will move on to play in tomorrow night’s championship game, which will air nationally in homes across the nation.
The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, August 13, at 7 p.m. CST, and can be viewed live on ESPNU, and will also be available on ESPN3 via the WatchESPN app. Visit Wichita and the National Baseball Congress have teamed up to produce and air the championships so that people across the nation can share in the excitement of this 82-year tradition held in Wichita.
"This tournament has sparked lasting memories in families for more than eight decades so to air it on national television and share it with the fans of ESPN just makes sense,” said Susie Santo, president & CEO of Visit Wichita.” Collegiate players in this tournament go on to do great things in baseball and they can say they got their start right here in Wichita. It's an honor to be home to such an unforgettable experience."
While they last, all tickets for the tournament’s championship game are $5. “All seating throughout Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, including upper level and lower level reserved seating, are included in our $5 championship game ticket special,” said Kevin Jenks, tournament director. “We want as many people as possible to be able to make it out to see the final game in what has been a thrilling NBC World Series.”
