WICHITA, Kan.— Visit Wichita has hired Jessica Sawatski to lead its media relations efforts as public relations manager. Sawatski will take the lead working with local, regional and national media to promote Wichita through earned media initiatives.

“As a lifelong Kansan – the last 12 in Wichita – I’m passionate about communicating all the ways to explore and enjoy all that Wichita has to offer,” Sawatski said. “I can’t wait to connect with influencers and writers to grow the city’s visibility and position it as a desired leisure, event and group meeting destination.”

Sawatski received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Kansas State University. Prior to Visit Wichita, she helped clients manage social media strategy and content development, special event planning and public relations at Sullivan Higdon & Sink. Most notably, she collaborated with the Kansas Health Foundation to announce its expansion and construction of the now complete Kansas Leadership Center and Kansas Health Foundation Conference Center and assisted the City of Wichita and the Wichita Airport Administration to announce the Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower’s new name, logo and new terminal.
