At Visit Wichita, the sales team plays a vital role: attracting new conventions, conferences and events to Wichita and enhancing economic development by bringing in these events to the city. Newly hired Mindy Lallier, who has more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, joined the organization as Vice President of Sales.
“We are excited to welcome Mindy to our organization as the Vice President of Sales,” said Susie Santo, President and CEO of Visit Wichita. “With her many years of sales and hospitality experience, we expect to expand our relationships with meeting planners across the country and put Wichita on the map as a premier destination in the heart of the country to host meetings, conferences and other events.”
In this role, Lallier will lead the Visit Wichita sales and services team, helping to showcase all the city has to offer to bring organizations, corporations and associations to Wichita. “I am thrilled to be in Wichita, and I’m excited to show our clients the many gems that can be found throughout the city. From the walkable downtown, to the breweries, amazing restaurants, attractions and nightlife, Wichita has all a convention would need to boost attendance – I cannot wait to spread the word,” she said.
Prior to joining Visit Wichita, Lallier held sales positions with TS2 Hospitality and InterContinental Kansas City At The Plaza and spent more than 15 years with Visit Overland Park. She has experience in local, regional and national account management and has expertise in selling to the specialty markets. “Throughout my career in hospitality, I have been privileged to build strong relationships and connections with business and community leaders – an important element to attracting new organizations and associations,” Lallier said. “I have been a Director of Sales and Marketing at hotels, as well as a DMO/CVB leader, which gives me a great insight into what our partners need and want and what it takes to win new business for Wichita. My previous positions have taught me that balancing the win-win for our stakeholders and our clients is the key to success.”
Lallier is a graduate of Mercy College, a Kansas Destination Specialist, is certified as a Cvent Supplier Professional and is a founding member of the CVB Mafia, a group of outstanding colleagues from across the Country that combine efforts and host numerous planner events throughout the year. Plus, she was a part of the inaugural class of 15 over 50 with Connect Marketplace, in which she was nominated by her team as a dedicated leader in the hospitality industry.
