Go Wichita Convention and Visitors Bureau, in partnership with the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition, Wichita Downtown Development Corporation, Wichita Community Foundation and Wichita State University, has embarked on an important project for Wichita and is asking for the community’s help. Together, they will define the Wichita brand. This shared understanding of what makes Wichita great will help everyone promote Wichita to visitors, potential businesses, students and residents alike.

“This effort is not about a new logo or slogan for the city,” said Go Wichita President and CEO Susie Santo. “It is about developing a comprehensive community wide strategy on how the city is going to tell our story going forward. With all the entities working together, this will create a unified message about what makes Wichita unique and distinctive, which will improve all the marketing connected with the city.”

“Selling our community is about finding a way to demonstrate our uniqueness in the marketplace and the Brand Summit is how we accomplish this task,” said Tim Chase President of the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition. “The Chamber and GWEDC are excited to be part of, what we believe will be, an extremely successful new initiative.”

The public is encouraged to voice their opinion at one of two Wichita Brand Summit Workshops where they will have an opportunity to share their input on what they think makes Wichita unique.

WICHITA BRAND SUMMIT WORKSHOP
Tuesday, Sept. 2 or Wednesday, Sept. 3
5 to 7 p.m. Wichita Scottish Rite Center 332 E. 1st St. N.

“Identifying the community brand is part of an ongoing process to strategically market Wichita as a destination,” Santo said. “The approval of the Tourism Business Improvement District was the first step in getting the Wichita message out. Defining the overall brand for our community is the next piece in this exciting process.”
