Wichitans Selling Wichita to Visitors

(Wichita, Kan.) The new 30th anniversary edition of Go Wichita's Official Visitors Guide is now available! And Wichita residents are helping Go Wichita convince potential visitors that Wichita has big-city amenities at Midwestem prices.

The just-published guide features three guest columnists: Craig Miner, Wichita State University history professor; Jared Brickman, ROK ICT! owner; and Charlie Claycomb, downtown Wichita resident. Each one shared their thoughts on what makes Wichita special, and in the process they give visitors a glimpse of the city's many unique offerings.

"The guest columnists tell Wichita's story from a resident's viewpoint," said John Rolfe, Go Wichita president and CEO. "It's enjoyable reading for anyone who wants to know why they should visit our city - and what makes Wichita a great city."

The annual publication's new magazine-inspired format highlights Wichita's cultural arts and family-friendly attractions, and lists Wichita's dining, shopping, entertainment and accommodation options. Pull-out maps help visitors navigate throughout the city and surrounding areas. Go Wichita will distribute 160,000 copies of the Visitors Guide regionally, nationally and internationally.

The 2010 Official Visitors Guide is available free of charge. A fully interactive version is accessible online at gowichita.com The guide will be available at the Go Wichita Visitor Information Center, Wichita-area hotels, restaurants and other businesses, To request a guide, call 316.265.2800 or 800.288.9424, or visit gowichita.com.
