The highly anticipated Drone Light Festival at Exploration Place will take place over three nights from Sept. 20-22, 2024, featuring 300 drones choreographed with music to create an awe-inspiring spectacle. This year’s festival will be even more special as Exploration Place celebrates the grand opening of the new Wichita Foundation Amphitheater.
“This is our third year bringing the Drone Light Show to life, and we’re making it our biggest and best one yet. We are ready to light up the night sky with an unforgettable display of technology and artistry. Don’t miss out on the excitement. Tickets are selling fast!” said Director of Marketing and Special Events at Exploration Place Erin Manning.
The drones will launch from the Mid-America All-Indian Museum grounds, offering a stunning view of the Keeper of the Plains. Each night’s show will include the special lighting of the Keeper of the Plains firepots, weather permitting. In addition to the drone light show, festival-goers can enjoy floating Chinese water lanterns in Exploration Place’s reflecting pond and a candlelit concert featuring over 2,000 candles.
Gates will open at 6 p.m., with the drone light show starting at 9 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy live music, demonstrations, games, local vendors, food, drinks and other entertainment. Admission also includes access to Exploration Place and their popular laser shows in the Dome Theater.
