Wichita is gearing up for 2018 to be an exciting year with multiple competitions and tournaments coming to town. From top-ranked collegiate sports to professional organizations, the level of sports in Wichita is impressive. This sports city is ready to welcome thousands of athletes, families, friends, fans and spectators to the area.

US Figure Skating Midwestern & Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships
Wichita begins the year hosting more than 2,500 athletes Jan. 24-28 for the US Figure Skating Midwestern & Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships at INTRUST Bank Arena. More than 160 teams will compete in this event for a chance to move on to the national championship. This is the first time a competition like this has landed in Wichita.

2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament
Eight teams and thousands of fans will grace downtown Wichita’s INTRUST Bank Arena for the 2018 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament March 15 & 17. Don’t miss out on the excitement of the 1st and 2nd rounds of the tourney, 1,000 restaurants, unique shopping and a FanFest area near the arena.

76th GOODE Water Ski Nationals
USA Water Ski and the American Water Ski Association are holding the 76th GOODE Water Ski Nationals at Mystic Lake in Maize from Aug. 7-11. More than 700 of the nation’s top water ski athletes from around the country will compete for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall categories. This is the world’s largest three-event water ski tournament.

84th annual Southwest Bowling Tournament
With more events and more opportunities for bowlers to win cash prizes, the 84th annual Southwest Bowling Tournament is happening Feb. 16 to April 1 at Northrock Lanes in northeast Wichita. Hundreds of bowlers will come to compete for trophies while supporting charities like Fold of Honor and Brightening Veterans Lives.

United States Bowling Congress US Open
In October, the top 150 bowlers in the world will descend on Wichita for the USBC 2018 US Open Direct Qualifier at Northrock Lanes. The event consists of teams, doubles, singles and an optional all-events competition.
