It might not be happening on a Tuesday, but the Air Capital is gearing up to celebrate the first Wichita Taco Fest from noon to 7 p.m. on June 24 at Union Station in Old Town.
With 20 different vendors offering tacos, margaritas and live music, Wichita Taco Fest brings a unique one day only family-friendly event to the heart of the city, as local restaurants serve up sample-size tacos.
Each establishment will be going head-to-head with others, competing in multiple categories for the best taco, salsa and margarita. There will also be a jalapeño eating contest and a tequila tent.
In between bites, test your luck in the gaming section and play Jenga or chess, while the kids get their faces painted. Patrons can also win prizes by entering a raffle.
Tickets to Wichita Taco Fest are only $5. Be sure to bring some extra cash to sample the $1 tacos and $2 chips and salsa plates, and quench your thirst with all the margarita flavors you can imagine. Some of the restaurants expected to participate include District Taqueria, The Mumbai Rail Indian Bistro, Angry Elephant BBQ and Los Dos Costas.
Get your tickets today at festiveict.com/wichitatacofest or at any MobileComm store in Wichita. Also, keep an eye on the Wichita Taco Fest Facebook Page, where organizers are giving away ticket packages ahead of the event.
