It’s happening at the zoo – on Tuesdays!

Wheeling Wild Tuesdays
Leisure bike riders are invited to enjoy the Zoo on two wheels the third Tuesday of the month for Wheeling Wild Tuesdays 5:30-6:30 p.m., sponsored by Bicycle X-Change. Registration is required!

  • Oct. 17: Bear

Tot Tuesday
Tot Tuesdays, 10:30-11 a.m. on fourth Tuesday of the month, presented by the Sedgwick County Zoo as well as Exploration Place, the Wichita WATER Center and other museums offer educational activities for children aged 3-5. Tot Tuesdays are free and do not require registration.

Twilight Tuesday
Some animals are more active after dinner so bring your family to the zoo for the final Twilight Tuesday presented by Cox 6-8:30 p.m. July 25! Admission is free for members or for people with a Cox voucher, which can be picked up at any Wichita-area, Derby, El Dorado or Newton Cox Solution Store. The event starts each Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Creature Campout
Pack the tent and sleeping bag for a Creature Campout at the zoo! Campouts include dinner, a tour and other activities as well as a bedtime snack. Individuals, families and groups of friends are welcome, but all participants must be at least 5 years old. Campers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are limited so grab yours at least 48 hours before the event when ticket sales end.

It’s happening at the zoo – more fun!

Children’s Farms Festival: County Fair
The Zoo celebrates the Children’s Farms with old-fashioned county fair activities where visitors can learn how animals are judged at the fair. Regular admission applies for this event, which runs 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 29. Members are free with membership card and photo ID.

Back to School Bash
Help children in the community and have fun before school starts for the zoo’s Back to School Bash 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, August 5, sponsored by KAKE-TV and Dillons. Bring school supplies for the Salvation Army, and be prepared for a big crowd. Admission is just $1 per person. Members are free with a membership card and photo ID.

Social Hour
A learning adventure just for the 21-and-older crowd, the zoo hosts social hours 6-8 p.m. with drinks and learning, sponsored in part by House of Schwan and Glazer’s. Tickets are limited so grab yours at least 48 hours before the event when ticket sales end.

It’s happening at the zoo – Zoobilee!

For one day only, the zoo closes its gates to prepare for Wichita’s Wildest Fun-raiser – Zoobilee! The Zoo closes 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. to general admission and opens to ticket holders 6 p.m.-midnight Saturday, Sept. 9 for its signature fundraiser.

Highlights for the Evening:
  • Specialty eats and drinks from favorite Wichita vendors
  • Live music throughout the Zoo, including the Wichita State University Steel Drum Band at the entrance, DJ Carbon in the Beer Garden and Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band on the main stage
  • A chance to bid for an honorary adoption of Zoo animals during the Zoopendous Live Auction

Zoobilee tickets go on sale Tuesday, Aug. 1 for $135. Starting Friday, Sept. 1, tickets will be $150. Tickets are limited so grab yours as soon as you can! Tickets are not refundable or transferable. Zoobilee will go on rain or shine.
