    As our Content Manager, you are very detailed oriented and love to be organized.  You have strong computer skills and previous project management experience.  You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you are in charge of ensuring content is accurate, interesting and on schedule. You serve as the liaison between all departments, ensuring all content needs are being met.  When content is needed, you come up with ideas and write the content.  You are extremely inquisitive and like discovering interesting items to promote about Wichita.  You are a talented story teller and whether you are coming up with the content idea for a blog, details for our website or writing copy, you move quickly from idea to execution.  You are excellent at multitasking and are comfortable leading weekly content meetings with all levels of management.  You are positive, a team player and have a passion for Wichita.

    Role

    The Content Manager is responsible for ensuring that all content is being created and delivered to appropriate media.  Will lead a weekly content meeting to ensure all content needs are met.   In charge of tracking, communicating to all partners and creating content when needed.  Role reports directly to VP of Marketing and will work closely with Public Relations Manager, Graphic Design Manager, VP of Sales, VP Partnership and Director of Website.  Will be responsible for entering daily events from partners into online calendar site.  Must be a goal-orientated, self-starter who is comfortable managing several projects simultaneously in a fast paced team environment.  Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal are required.  Capable of exercising initiative, judgment, tact and diplomacy in a wide variety of situations. Ability to work cooperatively within a small office environment. Strong Excel (or project management) computer skills.   Bachelor’s degree preferred. 


    Responsibilities:        

    • Lead weekly content meeting to track and ensure content needs are being met
    • Proactively seek interesting content ideas to be utilized on multiple mediums
    • Collect, compile, maintain and distribute all content for weekly and monthly email campaigns, website updates, sales collateral, etc.
    • Create and maintain content calendar
    • Write and edit copy
    • Review daily calendar of event submissions for appropriate and duplicate content
    • Work in a cohesive manner with other team members to ensure a unified and effective content effort
    • Route content for proofing and editing
    • Performs other duties as assigned


    Skills:

    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Pagemaker), be familiar with Design Suite (InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash)          
    • Project management experience required
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in marketing and/or communications; hospitality industry experience helpful
    • Four-year business/communications/marketing degree preferred
    • Creativity in advertising, social media and/or integrated communications
    • Must have excellent social and communication skills to represent Wichita to outside sources
    • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
    • Must be able to perform well in a deadline-driven, rapidly-changing team environment
    • Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and an insured vehicle for periodic business use
    • Ability to create and edit videos for YouTube and other outlets preferred
