    Role

    The website manager will be primarily responsible for the Visit Wichita website and mobile app, ensuring a best-in-class website that is highly intuitive.  The website manager will also play strong role in external efforts that push back to the website, such as RSS feeds to the Visit Wichita Community Calendar, digital marketing efforts, social efforts, and third-party referral sites.

    Manage all aspects of website including but not limited to:

    • Create, update, and manage pages in Visit Wichita’s Content Management System (CMS) ensuring website content is rich and robust and content is continually changing
    • Optimize site for SEO, ensuring well-performing meta data
    • Carry out branding and content plans consistently throughout the website
    • Manage website site map
    • Know key audiences of leisure traveler as well as meeting planners, appropriately creating and recommending content for all areas of the website and app
    • Regularly review the website and app to ensure images, videos, copy, etc. are working properly, are optimized and perform well from a data standpoint
    • Proactively review site for outdated content and site errors
    • Maintain expertise with Visit Wichita’s Content Management System (CMS) and Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) to ensure accurate and timely updates to all content, partner listings and offers displayed on the website
    • Serve as the main point of contact with website host, app provider, vendor for website monetization, referral sites

    Direct Website Strategy:

    • Benchmark other websites to ensure Visit Wichita is delivering a best-in-class website experience
    • Ensure search performance by optimizing all aspects of the site
    • Drive strong SEO results, make recommendations on layout, keywords, trending topics, search terms requiring bolstered content, making adjustments proactively for best performance
    • Follow forums regarding Google best practices, trends and performance metrics
    • Seek out trends and present ideas to senior management then ultimately take the lead in incorporating new elements into the website
    • Partner with website host and serve as internal lead for website projects

    Manage all aspects of the Visit Wichita Mobile App including but not limited to:

    • Manage content on Visit Wichita app ensuring it is current and robust
    • Serve as the main point of contact with mobile app host
    • Proactively ensure best performance from all aspects, including usability

    Manage Email Marketing Efforts:

    • Utilize email system to distribute electronic communication such as partner newsletters, meeting planner newsletters, consumer emails and similar publications
    • Consult on design and strategy of email template and distribution

    Provide reports and analysis of website, mobile app, and email marketing performance:

    • Gather and report performance metrics to senior management providing analysis focusing on trends, industry standards and performance versus goal and prior year
    • Make recommendations for improved website performance
    • Partner with Data Analyst and outside research agencies to evaluate website usability and implement findings

    Provide website insight to assist with digital marketing efforts:

    • Collaborate with marketing and outside media agencies providing recommendations on landing page URLs/UTM codes
    • Participate in strategic discussions regarding digital advertising and marketing campaigns to provide insights into website analytics

    Manage Community Calendar:

    • Serve as point of contact for outside organizations utilizing the Visit Wichita calendar feed

    Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications include:

    • Bachelor’s degree in the field of website/integrated marketing/communications preferred
    • 3-5 years’ experience in a position directly managing websites
    • Self-starter with the ability to finish projects in a timely and efficient manner
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel; proficient with CMS systems, HTML, CSS, Photoshop and ability to keep web up to date daily; proficient in both PC and MAC environments; familiar with cloud computing environments
    • Proficient in email distribution platforms such as Distribion
    • Proficient in Google analytics, SEO performance and enhancing performance based on changes in algorithms
    • Experience in collaborating with internal and external partners
    • Experience in leading projects and leading cross functional teams/meetings
    • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
    • Passion for benchmarking and learning to gain insights and ultimately implement findings to ensure website is best in class
    • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of information
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and maintain professionalism
    • Able to work special events as assigned 
    • Prior Convention and Visitors Bureau and/or other travel and tourism experience a plus

    Role:

    The social media manager will be solely responsible for all Visit Wichita social platforms 24/7, with an emphasis on engagement.  The social media manager will be proficient in behavioral targeting, geographic targeting, trend monitoring and monetization. Social media manager will also have the ability to create and edit video content for multi-platform use.

    Manage all aspects of social media including but not limited to:

    • Create, update, and manage all Visit Wichita social media platforms while tying in to overall content and website content plans
    • Have ability to write towards specific audiences and create compelling content that drives engagement
    • Have ability to create still images, .gifs, videos and other interactive content
    • Manage the social media budget and ensure performance measures are met or exceeded
    • Be proficient in behavioral targeting, geographic targeting, trend monitoring, monetization opportunities, advertising opportunities and more
    • Be intimately aware of all stakeholders at the local, regional and national levels, following all and interacting appropriately
    • Have a proven ability to build a social media community
    • Have experience as a brand advocate
    • Retain Visit Wichita’s performance for responsiveness
    • Serve as lead for all co-op social media contests and campaigns internally as well as with Partners and community organizations

    Direct Social Engagement Strategy:

    • Benchmark other social channels to ensure Visit Wichita is delivering a superior social experience while driving engagement
    • Know key audiences of leisure traveler as well as meeting planners, appropriately creating content to be used on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest with recommendations for future platforms
    • Follow forums regarding best practices, trends and performance metrics
    • Seek out trends and present ideas to senior management and ultimately take the lead in incorporating new elements into the overall social media strategy
    • Be engaged in and offer recommendations for improved performance

    Manage all aspects of social media relationships including but not limited to:

    • Follow and interact with all applicable groups, including travel writers
    • Share Partner content while engaging them and reporting to them the benefits of our social media efforts
    • Track all Partner mentions
    • Offer training, both internally and externally as a Partner benefit
    • Create content as needed including but not limited to, live videos, general video content, still images, and carousel images; resize header images and branding items for social channels

    Provide reports and analysis of social efforts and performance:

    • Gather and report performance metrics to senior management providing analysis focusing on trends, industry standards and performance versus goal and prior year
    • Make recommendations for improved engagement on all platforms; make necessary adjustments to non-performing content
    • Ensure that all social channels are laid out in such a fashion that meeting planners and potential leisure travelers can easily locate information
    • Offer reporting that takes into account national standards and demonstrates solid performance
