For Navigating COVID-19
Please check back frequently as this evolves and we collect more information over time.
Visit Wichita is committed to growing our travel economy, however, the health and well-being of our community and visitors are top priority. With the outbreak of coronavirus, or COVID-19, we are taking precautionary steps to flatten the COVID-19 curve by cancelling all travel and working from remote locations through May 31. This is being done as a preventative measure out of an abundance of caution, and the expectation is that daily operations, though altered, will not be interrupted.
Visit Wichita is also committed to doing everything we can to help our partners respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. While we may not physically be in our offices, know that we are still hard at work to secure and maintain business for our community and are here to support our partners in any way we can through these periods of uncertainty.
Please note that on May 19, Governor Kelly signed Executive Order 20-34 moving Kansas to Phase 2 in the State Reopening Plan, Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas. This phase, effective Friday, May 22, continues reopening efforts while maintaining some restrictions to prevent community transmission of COVID-19. This phase continues to limit gatherings to no more than 15 people and strongly encourages wearing face masks in public settings. Social distancing of six feet or more is still expected. Sedgwick County has given regular updates on the situation, which can be viewed here.
Please see below regarding the partner resources and COVID-19 toolkit we have compiled. Our team will continue to monitor the situation in conjunction with our state, city and county health officials as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and we will keep you informed of any additional changes as this rapidly changing public health situation continues. Know that we are still hard at work to secure and maintain business for our community and are here to support our partners in any way we can through these periods of uncertainty.
Thank you for your support as we navigate this unprecedented public health crisis.
