    Chisholm Trail 150th - Delano Fall Fair - A Chisholm Trail Celebration

    The Delano Fall Fair is a family event where you can step back in time and stroll down the streets of Delano among cowboys and saloon girls, eat a chuckwagon meal and watch the Race of the Amazons. There will be a wide array of things to interest young and old alike: a horse parade, old-fashioned games, horseless carriages, an 1880s Baseball game, a Civil War encampment, stage entertainment and a variety of foods.

    2017 is the 150th anniversary of the Chisholm Trail. 

    Schedule of Events: 

    Friday: 
    Campire Ghost Stories, 6-9 p.m.
    Truth is stranger than fiction! Come join us around the camp fire and hear the stories of real Chisholm Trail cowboys and early Wichita settlers and their lives on the frontier of the Old West. Hot dogs, s'mores, hot chocolate and apple cider available.

    Saturday: 
    All-day entertainment, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
    Vendors, cowboy food, Mexican fiesta, old-fashioned games, storyellers, horses and longhorns.

    Western Parade, Noon
    A western parade of horses and horse-drawn vehicles from the Clock Tower east to McLean Boulevard and south to Maple Street.

    Evening entertainment, 6-9 p.m.
    Del Shields & Suzy Bogguss on the main stage.

    Sunday:
    Cowboy church service, 11 a.m.-noon

    All-day entertainment, noon-5 p.m.
    Vendors, cowboy food, Mexican fiesta, old-fashioned games, storyellers, horses and longhorns.

    Opening the Clock Tower Time Capsule, Noon
    We will open the time capsule that was placed at the base when the clocktower was built, display the items contained in it and add additional items to the time capsule.

    Running of the Doves, 1 p.m.
    Watch as the saloon girls are carried down McLean from Douglas, partway to Maple where they will strip down to their bloomers and race back to Douglas. Cowboys will hoop and holler for the ladies and the rae winner receives a prize.

    Ice Cream Social, 2 p.m.
    Enjoy some old-fashioned ice cream while being entertained by a Jesse Chisholm Look-a-Like Contest and Beard & Mustache Contest. Winners will all receive prizes.
