Colorful Colorado by Charles Baughman Artist Demo and Closinging Reception
From: 06:00 PM to 09:00 PM, January 30, 2026 | Gallery 12
Join us Final Friday as Gallery 12 celebrates our special guest artist, Charles Baughman. Charles is a nationally known artist as well as an arts educator. He holds a Bachelors in Studio Art and Art History from Kearney State College and a Masters of Fine Art in Painting and Sculpture from Wichita State University. In 2007, he and his wife created the Art Park Campus in Wichita and have owned the Monart School of Art since 2004
Charles is widely known for his incredible splatter painted landscapes that he calls 'Splatterscapes'. He uses donated and leftover house paints and only a stick or his fingers to create these bold dripping action paintings. As a way of signing his work, Charles adheres a heart shaped rock that has been collected from the area to the front of each piece. His unusual signature represents his love of nature and brings a true piece of the local area to his paintings. This is the last chance to see his 'Colorful Colorado' exhibition.
Come by to watch Charles as he leads us through a demonstration of his action painting style at 7:00 pm and enjoy light refreshments.
Be sure to see the new Enamel Alchemy 3D exhibit featuring local enamel artists Jennifer Waltersheid, Jaryl Hudsen, Bruce Chapin, Christine Tasheff, Linda Gebert, Shelly Salley, Glen Misko, Yvonne McCarthy, Robin Lies and Rhonda Sullivan. A gallery talk about the processes and materials involved in enamel work will begin at 6:30.
