America 250 program focused on the history of flags in Kansas and Wichita featuring a local vexillologist. Join Cowtown’s curator to learn more about the flags that have flown over our courthouses throughout the state of Kansas. From the34-star flag used when Kansas entered the Union to Wichita’s unique and instantly recognizable city flag, our community has seen numerous banners throughout its history. Joined be a local vexillologist, this program is sure to be fun with flags. Join us on National Flag Day as the nation celebrates the250th anniversary in 2026.
The Curator's Corners programs are funded through a generous grant from Wichita Wagonmasters Good Life Fund at Wichita Foundation.
