Curator's Corner- Wichita's Earliest First Responders
From: 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM, September 5, 2026 | Old Cowtown Museum
As the nation approaches the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Old Cowtown Museum is honoring first responders by exploring the early history of those who served Wichita in this role. Wichita’s earliest first responders kept the peace, battled fires, and protected the citizens of the area. Along with our curator will be Tim McGill, a local historian who has done a lot of research and filming around this important part of Wichita’s history. Join us as we learn more about Wichita’s early city marshals and the volunteer firefighters who bravely served our community as we commemorate the nation’s250th anniversary and remember all first responders past and present.
The Curator's Corners programs are funded through a generous grant from Wichita Wagonmasters Good Life Fund at Wichita Foundation.
