Thank you for your interest in Rocket Camp. Sorry for getting this out so late but Bill Lindsay and I just got back from attending the national finals of Team America Rocket Challenge (TARC) in Washington, D.C. where our team competed this year. Unfortunately we did not win this year’s competition, but we placed a respectable 50th out of 100 of the top teams in the country.

If you are still interested in taking one of our Rocket Camps this year, please call me at 316-641-2039 ASAP. The camps are held at the EAA Chapter 88 Headquarters 3612 North Webb Road. Camps run 2 1/2 days, Monday-Wednesday, July 22-24.

On Monday and Tuesday we meet from 9-5. Wednesday is launch day, 9-Noon. Parents are not required to attend unless your child requires you to be there or is under age 8. Some parents choose to attend anyway and some even take the class, but most parents choose to attend the Wednesday morning launch. Camp is for ages 8 and up. Each camper will build and fly their own model rocket. Campers will be fed lunch on Monday and Tuesday. Drinks and snacks are included as well as all materials and supplies. The cost in $75 per camper for levels 1 and 2.

We will be offering 3 levels of camp this year. Completion of each level is required to attend the next higher level. Level one is beginner rocketry. Level 2 is intermediate rocketry and Level 3 is advanced rocketry. When you take a level 3 camp, you get to choose what rocket you want to build, therefore, the cost may be higher. We estimate level 3 camps will be between $75-100 and may take additional time to complete. We are even going to have a few students attending Level 4, where they will attempt to get their High Power Level I Certification. That camp will be around $200. When you call me to register your child, please let me know what level of camp they will be needing. When registering, full payment will be required. Please have a credit or debit card.

Hope to see you Rocket Camp this year!
