Join us Final Friday at The Hive for an evening celebrating our namesake—bees (and other bugs too)! Arachnids, insects...our featured artist Madison Leierer has always loved them, and the older she's grown the more she grows to appreciate them. Her goal with this series is to paint bugs in a different light. Bugs build the foundation of our planet, and Madison believes we should learn to appreciate them more. She wants to use her art to help others see these amazing, important creatures the way she sees them!
Madison Leierer enjoys using her work to show the oft-overlooked beauty and richness of nature. She uses various mediums such as colored pencil, watercolors, ink, pastels, and anything else imaginable to achieve bright, vivid colors in her work. Her favorite things to draw include animals, people, plants – basically anything that is alive. Madison Leierer is 18 years old, born and raised in Wichita, KS and is currently attending Kansas State University to study Biochemistry and Entomology. She has won multiple awards for her art including a regional Scholastic Gold Key and a regional Scholastic Silver Key.
