Free Movement and Dance Classes

CHILDREN CREATIVE MOVEMENT CLASS: 6-10 year olds
Mondays from 6 - 7 p.m.
In this class, children are free to express their own personality, thoughts, and feelings. Creative movement encourages children to act on what they are learning and express their individuality.
Some benefits of creative movement include developing body awareness, responding to music and rhythm, using movement to communicate ideas and nurturing interpersonal skills.
This class welcomes all abilities, no previous dance training is necessary.
ADULT MOVEMENT CLASS
Tuesdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.
This class focuses on exploring major concepts of movement such as breath support, connectivity and movement dynamic inviting each person’s abilities. During the class, you will be guided through different movement experiences to promote a pliable body and a focused mind.
SAFE® BARRE CLASS
Wednesdays 6 to 7:20 p.m.
The SAFE® BARRE method seamlessly meshes ballet and biomechanics.Technical mastery and health are indivisible. This approach generates flexibility and muscle tone altogether. This class is open to teenage and adult dancers with or with out previous training.
Location: Friends University - Riney Fine Arts Building (Dance studio E16)
Attire: Comfortable clothes that allow the child to move freely. Socks or bare feet.
All classes are free of cost. If you feel inclined to give a donation at the end of the semester, your donation will support dance majors need like funds to travel for conferences. It is not mandatory to come regularly; however is recommendable in order to nurture a movement/creative practice.
