Hemispheres: A Photographic Journey- Final Friday Reception
From: 06:00 PM to 09:00 PM, March 27, 2026 | Gallery 12
Opening Reception at Gallery 12 for Member/Photographer: John Ellert. The reception will be held on First Friday March 6th at 6 pm to 9 pm.
The concept for HEMISPHERES was curated from the 330,000 travel photography images in John Ellert's files over the last two
decades. Each group in the exhibit pairs photographs from two different hemispheres: southern with northern, eastern with western. He has created connections between visual and subjective elements present in opposing hemispheres while also covering as wide a geographic range as possible. Each of the pairings in Hemispheres tells a story of some of the most inspiring places on Earth to photograph: Iceland; the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem; the Oregon Coast; Tuscany, Italy; San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; Antarctica; East Africa’s Serengeti ecosystem; and Scotland.
Join us at the reception to meet John and chat about all the amazing locations he has visited over the course of a fascinating career.
Also exhibiting is guest artist Ceramist Alexandra Palmer who will give an Artist Talk at 7:00 pm
The exhibit will be on display during the month of March. A closing reception will be held on Final Friday March 27th, also at 6 pm to 9 pm. The show comes down on the 28th.
Gallery 12 is open and free to the public. Gallery hours are: Wednesday/Thursday/Saturday 10 am to 4 pm & Friday from noon to 6 pm.
