North Riverside Neighborhood is hosting its 2018 biennial Garden Stroll on Saturday, June 9 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The Stroll will highlight five diverse gardens and an Educational Vegetable Garden.
Admission is $5.00 per person for entry to all gardens. Tickets are available at Johnson’s Garden Centers and Seasonal Decorating.
On the day of the Stroll, tickets can also be purchased at Stroll gardens. Host gardeners will be available at each location to answer your questions. All proceeds benefit neighborhood landscaping projects.
At 1440 N. Woodland, see how Margaret and Michael Cranston have successfully reclaimed a neglected yard, and learn about attracting bees from a local expert.
Enjoy the sweeping River Vista at 1145 W 13th where Paula and Gary Weber have food trucks available. (Funky Monkey Munchies, known for their tacos, from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and Sunflower Espresso, 2-4 p.m., with tempting dessert and coffee). Grab a bite to eat while you stroll, or linger here and enjoy the views from one of many patios.
Beth and Mike Fahey, 1530 W. 13th St. welcome you to their Asian-themed garden, plus get advice on rose growing roses from members of the Rose Society.
At 1410 Lieunett, Joan and Brian Ernstmann show that great things can come in small packages. Their cozy backyard is a delightful experience combining color and art work.
Carolyn and Bill Rutherford, 1828 W 18th St. #1016, will introduce you to life at Twin Lakes Apartments and gardening on a patio with a backdrop of a charming lake and its wildlife. Music will be provided from 10 a.m.-Noon by Wichita Ukulele Society.
