Our latest traveling exhibition, Patriot Nations: Native Americans in our Nation’s Armed Forces, will be opening on Armed Forces Day, May 20, 2017. Military and their families are invited to visit our entire museum free of charge that day, an early kick-start to Blue Star Museums that runs during the summer. The exhibition will run through September 16, 2017.

This banner exhibition tells the remarkable history of the brave American Indian and Alaska Native men and women who have served in the United States military dating back to the Revolutionary War.

Patriot Nations: Native Americans in Our Nation’s Armed Forces is produced by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. The exhibition was made possible by the generous support of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.
