Rodrigo Moura: Indigenisms and Indigeneitiesin the Art from Brazil

Rodrigo Moura is a writer, editor, and curator. He worked in Brazilian institutions such as Museu de Arte de São Paulo and Instituto Inhotim. He currently lives in New York, where he serves as chief curator at El Museo del Barrio. He will present an overview of Indigenous themes, signifiers, and practices in Brazilian art, from the modern avant-gardes and into the 21st century. This talk is presented in conjunction with Zahy Tentehar’s The Civilized, on display in the Amsden Gallery this fall. This free talk takes place in the Beren Gallery and everyone is invited. Reception at 5:30 p.m. Program begins at 6 p.m.
