Run2Believe 5k Run and Walk

9:00am, May 8, 2021 | Maize High School

Run2Believe is a 5K run/walk that was created to honor the memory of Kyle Thornburg and Kylie Jobe. Kyle Thornburg (class of 07), and Kylie Jobe (class of 09) both graduated from Maize High School.

Kyle and Kylie, together became innocent victims of a drunk driver as they returned home from a ski trip over spring break in 2011. In a tragic accident on I-70 when a man entered the interstate going the wrong direction. He had a blood alcohol level of .23 — almost three times the legal limit. All three were killed.

While this run remembers Kyle and Kylie, the main priority of the families is to remind everyone about the dangers of drinking and driving.

Proceeds from the run benefit the Maize Education Foundation, which gives two scholarships to two Maize students in Kyle’s name, the Oklahoma State University Foundation which gives a scholarship in Kylie’s name, and local schools, especially USD 266, to help raise awareness against drinking and driving.
