Smoke on the Plains Derby BBQ & Music Festival - 2025

You are invited to scenic High Park for a weekend of fun, food and music! The park will be full of activity on June 13 and 14, 2025 as we hold the 14th Annual Smoke on the Plains BBQ & Music Festival. There will be fun for all ages, from live music on the Mainstage to free activites in the Kids Corner. Enjoy refreshing beverages from the Derby Noon Lions Club Beer & Beverage Tent and Shaken or Stirred Bartending all weekend.

The BBQ competitions include the KCBS Cook-off, Backyard BBQ Cook-off, Kids Que and People’s Choice Tasting.

The festival includes two days of nonstop fun for the whole family. Sample professional BBQ, listen to live music, enjoy food trucks and drinks around the Mainstage. Your kids will love the Kids Corner including princess and superhero lessons, bounce houses, face painting, foam parties (11 a.m to 2 p.m.), bubbles and more. 

Calling all music lovers! Gather around the Mainstage for two days of free concerts. Whether you love country music, folk, blues or 80s rock, you’ll find a concert to sit and enjoy in your lawn chair or blanket. You’ll be surrounded by friends, food trucks, drinks and good times.
