“Electric blues and rock fans searching for a new guitar hero need look no further than Terry Quiett, roaring from the heartland like a tornado.” – Dave Rubin, KBA recipient in Journalism
For the last ten years Terry Quiett has been crisscrossing the heart of the country sharing his unique spin on soulful, contemporary blues. From funky live music joints like Sparky’s in Hatch, New Mexico to the crowds at the Hot August Blues Festival on Ken Lake, Kentucky, Terry has won fans and made audiences stand up and cheer.
However, it was twenty years ago that he had his humble start at a tiny club right here in Wichita.
So for one night only, Terry is digging back into his catalog to perform an exciting mix of material celebrating the last twenty years of his musical journey. From his earliest beginnings with his rock band Stone Owen, through several singer-songwriter albums working with local legend GOODING, right up through his acoustic duo Quiett & Walker, then culminating in the formation of the blues-rock trio the Terry Quiett Band who have opened for major blues legends and recorded with Grammy-winners Jim Gaines and Blaise Barton.
Joining him on stage will be a number of special guest musicians who’ve been a crucial part of his adventure: Rodney “Shotgun” Baker and Nathan “Smiley” Johnson from the Terry Quiett Band, Guinn Walker of Quiett & Walker, blues harp extraordinaire Miss’ippi Hal Reed, multi-instrumentalist Scott Williams and long-time TQB member The Reverend Aaron Underwood.
In addition, for the first time in 15+ years, Doug Ward and Erik Skov will join him on stage and Stone Owen, his band which started it all in that tiny club, will reunite for one special performance.
It promises to be a truly unique experience that won't be repeated and shouldn't be missed.
