This year's headliners will be a Wichita Favorite from the past, The Dive Kings!
The Featured Act, Vehicles have been described as an Alternative, Rock, Space, Jam band that melds all these genres together into a unique sound that is all their own. One might pick up on elements that recall Echo and the Bunnymen, Interpol, Tears for Fears - just to scratch the surface.
The PAT-All Stars - will feature Pat MJimsey Band Alumni performing some of Pat's favorites and originals.
The PAT - Performance Artists Trust - Fund was created after the sudden death of Pat McJimsey at the request of the late musician's wife, Barb Pearce McJimsey. Memorial gifts following his sudden death April 1, 2004, helped provide the seed money to start the fund that bare's his name. "Pat understood the needs of so many local musicians who struggle to survive without health insurance or savings, especially when a hardship interrupts their ability to play for pay," explained Barb McJimsey. "When adversity affects a musician's ability to keep gigging the struggle can become a crisis."
The PAT Fund is a nonprofit resource for working area musicians within the surrounding Wichita area who are unable to gig due to major illness, accident or medical emergency, or for their immediate survivors to address final expenses. Applications for assistance are reviewed by the PAT Fund Committee and acted upon in keeping with the urgency of the request.
Contributions and memorial gifts sustain The PAT Fund as well as the Annual PAT Bash. To make a donation at any time send your contribution to: The PAT Fund, c/o The Wichita Blues Society, PO Box 8273-Munger Station, Wichita, KS 67208. WBS is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 Kansas corporation.
