A beloved Broadway gem, The Wiz infuses L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with a dazzling mix of rock, gospel, and soul music. This timeless tale of Dorothy’s adventures through the Land of Oz is a fun, family-friendly, modern musical and one of the most popular shows in the history of musical theatre.

A winner of 7 Tony Awards and 4 Drama Desk awards, this musical was adapted into a film version with Diana Ross and Michael Jackson and just recently was broadcast live on NBC with Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, David Allen Grier and Stephanie Mills as Auntie Em. 

Wichita's production features Tony award nominee Karla Burns as Evilene, The Voice finalist Injoy Fountain as Addaperle, Jaslyn Alexander as Dorothy, Lucas Styles Lowry as the Scarecrow, Huron Breaux as the Tinman, Alexander Ogburn as the Lion, Robert Barnes as The Wiz, Kalene 'Koko" Blanton as Glinda and a cast of 9 supporting staff. Directed by Rick Bumgardner, Music Direction by Huron Breaux and Karla Burns, Choreography by Aviance Battles, Set Design by John Hammer, Costumes by Charla Sanderson, Lighting by Arthur Reese.
