Writing Now Reading Now: Kerry Jones

05:30 PM, September 27, 2023 | Ulrich Museum of Art-Wichita State University

Join us to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Wichita State’s MFA Program as Kerry Jones (MFA 2000) reads from The Last Innocent Year, winner of Southeast Missouri State University’s Nilsen Prize. Jones’s fiction has won the Richard Yates Short Story Award and appeared in Sycamore Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, and Bryant Literary Review Quarterly. Adam Prince, author of The Beautiful Wishes of Ugly Men, praises The Last Innocent Year as a “startling debut,” one that “takes us right to the brink—of childhood and adulthood, yes, but also pleasure and pain, truth and fiction, victim and perpetrator, past and present.” Writing Now/Reading Now is cosponsored by the WSU Department of English, Fairmount College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Watermark Books & Café, and the Ulrich Museum of Art. This event takes place in the Beren Gallery. Reception at 5:30 p.m. Program begins at 6 p.m.
