On the path to the PGA Tour, the premier Web.com Air Capital Classic brings more than 42,000 people to Crestview Country Club’s North Course each June. The event combines some of the best golfers in the world with multiple events and a challenging course with many 3- to 5-par holes. Crestview is the only 36-hole country club in Kansas.
The tournament begins with 156 players, but only the top 60 will advance for a chance to take home some money and claim the tournament title. Up for grabs is a $625,000 purse and the winner will take home $112,000.
The Air Capital Classic has been raising money for charities since 2013. Local organizations like Children’s Miracle Network, the Greater Wichita YMCA, Ronald McDonald House, Wichita South High School and the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Kansas have all received awards through money raised by the Air Capital Classic. The event has brought in more than $650,000 over the past three years. More than 20 youth athletic teams and local non-profits volunteer in the Air Capital Classic each year.
