Avenue Art Days
Avenue Art Days is an initiative that started in 2015 to encourage and utilize young, creative talent to enhance Douglas Avenue's aesthetic with art. Wichita artists are given a voice through their artwork on everything from trashcans to crosswalks, including large murals on businesses in the neighborhood.
The three-day festival unveils urban art exhibits finished by local and regional muralists and artists. Not only do the pieces add flare to the city, it creates a uniquely Wichita experience for visitors and locals alike. These murals are painted from the historic College Hill area through the Douglas Design District, all the way to the edge of Old Town.
The event happens in conjunction with Open Streets ICT, so more people can enjoy this public art.
Visitors can look for new artwork each September during the Avenue Art Days celebration.
