Get ready, Wichita! One of the city's most beloved traditions is returning to light up the night sky as we celebrate not only Independence Day, but also America's 250th birthday.
Join Wichita Park & Recreation on Saturday, July 4, for Red, White & BOOM! presented by Evergy, Wichita's largest Independence Day celebration. This free community event will bring families, friends, and neighbors together in the heart of downtown Wichita for an unforgettable evening filled with food, festivities, patriotism, and a spectacular fireworks display.
As our nation marks 250 years of freedom, innovation, and resilience, there's no better place to celebrate than alongside thousands of fellow Wichitans gathered along the Arkansas River. This year's Red, White & BOOM! promises to be a memorable tribute to America's semi quincentennial, combining hometown pride with one of the most dazzling fireworks shows in the region.
Festivities begin at 6 p.m., with local food vendors serving crowd favorites on the Hyatt Lawn. Grab dinner, bring your lawn chairs or blankets, and settle in for an evening of family-friendly fun and community spirit.
The highlight of the night begins at approximately 9:30 p.m., immediately following the Wichita Wind Surge game at Equity Bank Park. The fireworks will launch from the bank of the Arkansas River, creating a breathtaking display against the downtown Wichita skyline. To make the experience even more immersive, guests can download the Pyrocast App or scan an event QR code to sync the fireworks show with a custom musical soundtrack.
