    BlackTop Nationals at Riverfest
What began as a simple discussion to pass the time on a roadtrip back from Denver, CO, turned into an annual event drawing thousands of people to the streets of downtown Wichita.

In 2010, Rick Nuckrolls and his friend made their idea a reality, treating their hometown of Wichita to a national car and motorcycle event. With family-friendly entertainment, an assortment of food and drink and all kinds of vehicles, there was something for everyone at the inaugural BlackTop Nationals.

Five years later, Nuckrolls was called out of Wichita, but wanted the event to remain intact. Today, thanks to presenting sponsor Midwest Ford Dealers and the folks at Wichita Festivals, Inc., the passion for classic cars lives on every summer as part of the Riverfest celebration. The two events share resources to enhance both experiences for all who attend.

    Fun Facts:

    • Your $10  ($5 for kids) Riverfest button is all you need for your admission to BlackTop Nationals.
    • The car show is held inside Century II each year, drawing in thousands of spectators.
    • The “Admiral’s Collection” encompasses high end classic and contemporary cars for attendees to admire.
    • Winners of judged events take home hand-made trophies made by members of a local car club.
