If your go-to drink is wine or includes spirits, you’ll want to try what Wichita has to offer at its wineries and local distillery. Get ready for free tastings, plenty of fun and even some education if you’re interested.
At Grace Hill Winery and Vineyards, tasting all 14 of their wines in succession can be a great learning experience to take some of the mystery out of wine. You can also tour of the 8-acre vineyard, winery and cellar to see the entire winemaking process from vine to wine. You’re also welcome to enjoy a bottle of wine in the event center, on the patio overlooking the vineyard with a picnic on their grounds.
Wheat State Distilling, Wichita’s first legal distillery since prohibition, opened in December 2013 using local quality grains to produce premium spirits including vodka, gin, whiskey, bourbon and rum. Wheat State offers tastings and tours at its distilling facility in north Wichita or tastings at its bar/tasting room in Old Town.
