Our parks and recreation system is a reflection of the community and the community’s long held values that support parkland, green space, recreational activities, golf, fitness and wellness. With more than 120 parks, hiking, biking and fitness trails on over 5,000 acres of park land, four golf courses, Botanica’s 18 acres of gardenscaping, eight community recreation centers, and programming for all ages and interests, the Park and Recreation Department is a major contributor to Wichita’s nationally acclaimed high quality of life and the result of the community support and investment.
