It is one of the largest car events in Wichita and continues to grow to be bigger and better. With more than 100,000 visitors and 1,000 cars on average every year, Automobilia’s Annual Moonlight Car Show Meet and Street Party closes down at least two blocks of downtown Wichita and opens up a whole lot of fun.
What is Automobilia?
Automobilia is a store in downtown Wichita that sells memorabilia and collectibles inspired by cars. Owners Gary and Lorita Carpenter started their local business back in 1981, and in 1995, a customer appreciation car show in front of their store started a long-standing Wichita tradition. The event is now under the management of Joshua Blick.
What to expect
Patrons can enjoy countless classic and modified vehicles, live music and entertainment, a swap meet, model car contest, food and vendors and a special midnight cruise around Wichita.
The free event allows the public an up-close-and-personal look under the hood of hundreds of classic cars, mods, motorcycles and other vehicles.
Registration is open up to the day of the event. For $25, those wanting to enter a vehicle can do so until June 30. After the deadline, registration fee is $30 per entry.
The event has three food courts and seven stages with continuous live music throughout the evening.
Bands come from all over Kansas and the Midwest Region to be a part of Automobilia’s live entertainment.
The merchant court is stocked with hundreds of great items. You’ll get the chance to purchase Automobilia t-shirts and other memorabilia. There are also other hand-made goods from local artisans.
