Outdoor Facilities

Enjoy the beauty of Wichita’s open-air outdoor facilities perfect for your next sporting event. From football, soccer and softball to BMX and extreme sports, Wichita brings you a collection of venues to choose from.

The brand new multi-sport Stryker Sports Complex just completed in 2019 can be used for soccer, football, rugby and lacrosse. With 11 total fields (nine standard, one championship and one indoor), all are turf and lighting natural grass playing fields. The championship stadium seats nearly 5,000 fans with large bleachers and concession stands.

South Lakes Soccer Complex offers 15 all-natural grass soccer fields great for tournaments and events. South Lakes Softball Complex touts eight lighted softball diamonds, skinned infields, covered dugouts, electronic scoreboards and press boxes. Golf carts are available to event directors.

Wichita’s new downtown baseball facility is expected to be completed in April 2020 and will be home to the city’s AAA baseball team. This multi-use, year-round stadium offers pre-game activities, a large plaza behind center field with an outfield tower, baseball museum and a total seating capacity of 10,000.

Eck Stadium, home of Wichita State University’s baseball team seats more than 7,500 fans and offers an all-turf (AstroTurf GameDay Grass) complex with two-level press boxes, 18 skyboxes and an All-American Club that can accommodate nearly 200 people. The adjacent Bombardier Learjet Indoor Practice Facility is a 29,000-square-foot, climate-controlled building with an AstroTurf field and retractable batting cages.

Cessna Stadium on the Wichita State campus seats 24,000 people. This multi-purpose facility is excellent for football, soccer and outdoor track and field.  With an eight-lane track made of polyurethane and both throwing and field event areas, it’s no wonder many large-scale track and field events are held at this venue. Cessna Stadium is home to KSHSAA State Track, one of the largest track meets in the country.

Extreme sports fans will love Bar2Bar MX Park. Voted “Best Track” in the state of Kansas by Motoplayground, this outdoor facility has sandy loam dirt and is the premier location for motocross.
