The Role
The Finance and Data Management Specialist will assist with financial operations, including payroll processing, accounts receivable, performance reporting, Strategic Events Fund management, employee benefits management, and other finance-related tasks as well as manage our CRM database management This position requires a detail-oriented and process driven individual that will ensure flawless execution of financial operations. This position reports to the Sr. Vice President of Finance and Administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll: Process bi-monthly payroll utilizing a third-party platform. This includes data input, report maintenance, journal entry preparation, and processing 401k deposit.
- Employee Benefits Management: Point of contact for benefits, assist with renewals and open enrollment, ensure accurate payroll withholdings, maintain PTO database, manage wellness and step challenge benefits.
- Accounts Receivable: Support the Partnership team and other departments with invoicing, track outstanding balances, ensure CRM invoices are imported into Sage Intacct.
- Strategic Event Fund Management: Support the Convention and Sports Sales departments by maintaining a pipeline of committed funds, prepare quarterly fund reports, and establish processes for sales staff.
- Performance Reporting: Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to the board of directors and other stakeholders.
- Accounting Automation: Help to establish procedures and set up accounting automation utilizing the Sage Intacct software.
- Database Management: Manage the CRM database processes.
- Other Finance-related duties: Support the Finance department by assisting in other finance-related duties as necessary. These may include assisting with month-end reconciliations, financial statement preparation, budget, and Accounts Payable back-up.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
- Proven financial operations experience
- Success being a team player in a work environment
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and process driven
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with Sage Intacct beneficial but not essential
- Strong Excel skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM
- Excellent organizational skills – ability to establish priorities and follow through on all tasks
- Team oriented and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and an insured vehicle for periodic business use.
