The beer scene is hot in Wichita with local breweries and taprooms offering dozens of interesting, unique and local flavors. From Hopping Gnome Brewing Company, Central Standard Brewing and White Crow Cider Company in the artsy Douglas Design District and  Tor Brewing, Nortons Brewing Co. and The Leprechaun’s Lab in downtown Wichita, you'll have access to all kinds of brews to find that flavor you love. Hit the east and west sides of the city and find great food and drinks in places like Wichita Brewing Co. (east and west) and Social Tap Drinkery (WSU campus and Greenwich Road). Also - don't miss out on Wichita's newest taproom in Union Station, The Depot.  If you're in town over summer, check out Visit Wichita's Wicked Brew Tour and earn a free T-Shirt from completing your beer (or coffee) passport.

Live Entertainment

End the night with a concert at WAVE for the live music lineup. Bands from all over the country stop in to play in Wichita's newest indoor/outdoor venue. Looking for something a little bigger? The Cotillion, Park City Arena and INTRUST Bank Arena offer larger acts. Those events can be found listed on our event calendar. There are also monthly performances and rotating shows at Roxy's Downtown and Mosley Street Melodrama, Wichita's only audience-participation theater.

Fun & Games

Get your lumberjack on at Blade & Timber, an axe-throwing bar in the Historic Delano District, or Axe to Grind in downtown. Go head-to-head with your crew and enjoy a competitive atmosphere in the heart of the city. If an arcade feel is more your style, stop by The Arcade for retro cabinet games or Headshots Bar & Grill for video game action. Get Active

No matter what time of year it is, get active at Bliss Climbing & Fitness, Wichita's only full-service indoor rock-climbing gym. Scale the 38-foot top rope and lead climbing wall, challenge yourself on the 16-foot bouldering wall and try your luck at novice or advanced routes. 

Sign up for a game of pickleball at Chicken N Pickle. Wichita's popular indoor/outdoor entertainment venue not only offers pickleball and food, but you can also challenge your friends to lawn games like battleship or cornhole. With 10 pickleball courts, two bocce ball courts, four shuffleboard courts and a game room with table tennis and televisions, you'll want to stay all day. 

For those who prefer indoor sports, Wichita offers a climate-controlled indoor shooting range at Range 54. This safe shooting experience is second-to-none and makes for the perfect target practice experience.

Outdoor Fun

With 225 days of sunny skies per year in the city, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors in Wichita. Whether you're a weekend duffer, touring professional or somewhere in between, Wichita-area golf courses provide challenges for any skill level. With five public courses, disc golf courses, and challenging fairways, Wichita will be your next favorite golfing destination. 

If hiking and biking is more your style, rent a Bike Share ICT bike from one of the 40 stations and explore Wichita's many paths, or one of the city's 144 parks. Or venture out on the Arkansas River in a kayak or on a standup paddle board.

Sports

No matter the season, Wichita is a sports city. Get in on the action at INTRUST Bank Arena with the Wichita Thunder, the city's professional hockey team. 

Wichita also has a Minor League Baseball team, the Wichita Wind Surge, and a new ballpark, Riverfront Stadium, which sits right on the west bank of the Arkansas River. The team is an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins and features up-and-coming professional ballplayers. 

How about college sports? You’ll find competitions year round at Wichita State University, Newman University and Friends University. 

The city also has a number of professional and semi-pro teams. In 2019, Wichita welcomed the Wichita Wizards, a Minor League Basketball Association team for the first time, playing at Garvey P.E. Center at Friends University.
