Look for the bright lights of the carnival in the parking lot just southeast of the Hyatt Regency Wichita. Ride tickets can be purchased in this area.

Star Lumber Sundown Parade

Grab front row seating to watch entrants strut their creative stuff with floats, bands, flags, performers, and all your favorite parade traditions.

Concert featuring Digital Underground

Digital Underground, opening night’s hip-hop headliner, may be best known by audiences for their iconic song “The Humpty Dance.” The night will also feature opening acts C&C Music Factory and Tag Team.
Textron Aviation Opening Night Fireworks

Come enjoy some fun entertainment, mouthwatering bacon, and catch a pancake served up with a dose of humor! The purpose of the Panel Build is to construct all the wall panels necessary to build an entire home. Once the panels are built, stop by and sign your name on a stud; paint part of a design board or sign up for future Wichita Habitat builds.

A fun and friendly competitive event between high school teams of 10 competing in 7 micro events. Events will be tug of war, trike races, relay race with a twist, ICT trivia, not-your-grandparents Rock Paper Scissors, and the magic tarp. STEAM City is all about showcasing the diverse and exciting roles that STEAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics—plays in our everyday lives and in manufacturing careers. STEAM City at the Riverfest is a place where young people can appreciate the ‘coolness’ of STEAM and get introduced to skills and potential occupations they may never have considered otherwise. STEAM City will grab them, engage them, and get them thinking, all while they’re having fun!

Cardboard Regatta

Vessel construction starts at 1:30 p.m., Launch is at 3p.m. Build a river-worthy vessel in 90 minutes or less with cardboard, duct tape, pool noodles and a box cutter. No team size limit, but at least one team member (ages 12 or older) must ride in the vessel. Awards for fastest time, best design and most spectacular sinking. Goodwill is ready to spice up Riverfest with the 36th annual Cajun Food Fest! Enjoy large helpings of traditional Louisiana favorites including chicken étouffée, red beans and sausage served over rice and homemade bread pudding topped with a decadent bourbon custard sauce, all prepared by ASM Global!
Tickets are just $15 for the entire meal, including dessert, and available at Kennedy Plaza at the time of the event. Limited quantities are available; first come, first served.

Capitol Federal is proud to sponsor the 2024 Riverfest Fireworks Finale which will begin directly following the concert at approximately 10:45 p.m. Location: The fireworks will be shot from the west bank of the river between the Lewis Street Bridge and the Douglas Street Bridge.
