Familiar Festive-Finder
Rediscover Wichita with a holiday twist. You've been before, but have you seen the latest Wichita has to offer? Be sure to see the most recent Official Wichita Visitors Guide for trip-planning ideas.
Day 1:
If you’re from Kansas, you already know Wichita, but the holidays make it feel brand new. Kick off your getaway at the all-new Somewhere in Winter Festival, where you can lace up for a few laps on the outdoor skating, graze the local food market and take in the sights and sounds of Wichita’s newest holiday experience. A Country Christmas at Fulton Valley Farms has added nearly 2 million holiday lights, making this experience a can’t miss this year. For dinner, enjoy the same great flavors Prost is known for – such as their authentic German biers and dishes like schnitzel, house-made spätzle and bierocks– at their expanded downtown location.
Igloos at Chicken N Pickle
Day 2:
Stop by Wichita’s always on-trend coffee shops such as Reverie Coffee Roasters or Coffee Daze in Clifton Square before spending the morning shopping and knocking out your Christmas to-do list. Mix big-name favorites like SCHEELS, Towne East Square and Bradley Fair with Wichita’s local markets and pop-ups such as Old Town’s Holiday Market Season, The Workroom. Coming the day after Thanksgiving and brought to you by Sedgwick County Zoo, Zoo Market Square can be found in New Market Square.
Later, book an experience at Chicken N Pickle, either in their cozy, lodge-like Holiday Hideaway or in one of their Igloos. Pick up some hand-crafted chocolates and wrap up your day with a self-guided neighborhood lights drive. It’s free, festive and a Wichita tradition you’ll keep coming back each year to experience.
