Day 1:
If you love your holidays wrapped in elegance and tradition, Wichita delivers. Start your time in the Heart of the Country by taking in the warm glow of the season during Frank Lloyd Wright’s Allen House Holiday Moonlight Tour, where you can explore the beautifully decorated historic home by original lighting, enjoy holiday treats and shop unique gifts in the museum store.
Enjoy an elegant dinner at Georges French Bistro, a 2025 James Beard semifinalist, or Larkspur Bistro & Bar, located conveniently in Old Town, before taking in a holiday performance. Choose from classics like "The Nutcracker" by the Metropolitan Ballet or a Wichita Symphony Orchestra concert to festive productions at Mosley Street Melodrama or Roxy’s Downtown.
Cocoa Dolce Chocolates
Day 2:
Spend the next day exploring Wichita’s history and holiday heritage. Step back in time at Victorian Christmas at Old Cowtown Museum or wander the beautifully decorated Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum’s Victorian Cottage Christmas exhibit.
For lunch, choose a classic soup-and-salad spot such as always heartwarming Tanya’s Soup Kitchen or watch your meal being prepared over a live hearth at First Mile Kitchen. Stroll through Bradley Fair and browse a mix of big-name, upscale retailers and local shops like Cocoa Dolce Chocolates, where you can find unique gift items or simply sip wine while enjoying hand-crafted confections.
The Belmont
As evening falls, stroll through Illuminations at Botanica Wichita, then unwind with a glass of wine at upscale restaurants just east of downtown, Vora or Wine Dive, or a local beer at Central Standard Brewing or Wichita Brewing Co. & Pizzeria. Also look for restaurants and breweries, such as The Belmont and Hopping Gnome, that are celebrating the season with fun holiday pop ups.
If you’re staying downtown at the Ambassador Hotel, finish the night with a handcrafted cocktail at Dockum, one of Wichita’s most atmospheric speakeasies.
