Friends University also offers several degree programs and a number of on-campus student organizations.
Newman University was founded by the Wichita Adorners of the Blood of Christ, a Catholic group of women stemming back to the early 1800s Italy. Anchored in a foundation of faith, the college promotes servitude and humility. With more than 40 undergraduate and many graduate courses, this university serves nearly 3,000 students.

Schools
Wichita Public Schools (WPS) is the largest school district in Kansas, educating approximately 11 percent of all public-school students in the state of Kansas, and more than half of all school-aged children in Sedgwick County. WPS serves students in 94 schools and special program locations, employing nearly 10,000 dedicated professionals.
The district provides unparalleled opportunities for students - in the classroom; by participation in service and extra-curricular activities; because of extraordinary and safe school facilities; regardless of ability, language needs and background.
WPS also offers 17 elementary, two K-8, five middle and one high school magnet options, and also participates in an out-of-district enrollment lottery. Wichita Collegiate School, The Independent School, Trinity Academy, Bishop Carroll and Kapaun Mt. Carmel are just a few of more than 10 private schools within city limits.
Popular school districts in a few of Wichita's bordering communities include Andover, Derby, Goddard and Maize.
